Staff Recreation Club (SRC)
About Us

The Staff Recreation Club has been established for the benefit of the professors and office staff of our university with the aim of maintaining their physical and mental well-being. In this Staff Recreation Club, a gym and a treadmill have been set up to enable the professors and office staff to keep their health.

Furthermore, there is a facility for yoga practice with music for peace of mind, walking around the royal tree to blend in with the natural environment. In addition, indoor games such as chess, carrom board, table tennis and outdoor games such as shuttlecock, volleyball, and ball badminton have been set up.

The Staff Recreation Club in Alagappa University is an organization dedicated to enhancing the well-being, morale, and sense of community among university staff members. It provides a platform for staff members to engage in recreational and social activities outside of their professional responsibilities, fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment.

Scope & Objectives of SRC

  1. To organize a variety of recreational activities, including sports tournaments, fitness classes, and cultural events, to promote physical health and well-being among staff members.
  2. To create opportunities for staff members to socialize, network, and build camaraderie through informal gatherings, social outings, and community-building events.
  3. To facilitate work-life balance by offering recreational facilities and amenities on campus, such as sports fields, gymnasiums, and relaxation spaces.
  4. To promote mental health and stress relief through mindfulness activities, relaxation techniques, and wellness workshops designed to help staff members manage stress and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
  5. To celebrate achievements and milestones of staff members through recognition events, award ceremonies, and appreciation activities.
  6. To encourage staff members to pursue personal interests and hobbies by providing resources, support, and opportunities for creative expression and skill development.

About the Events

  1. The sports events will be held at Staff Recreation club and AUCPE.
  2. The cultural events will be conducted at Tamil Cultural Centre
Events

Annual Tournament – 2025

The Annual Tournament – 2025, a Sports Competition organized for the faculty and non-teaching members of Alagappa University, was conducted on 21 March 2025 at the Staff Recreation Club, Alagappa University. The tournament featured expert supervision by referees from AUCPE, ensuring fairness and high standards throughout the events. The programme was graced by Dr. A. Senthilrajan, Registrar, Alagappa University, who served as the Guest Speaker and motivated the participants with his encouraging address. The event was coordinated under the leadership of Dr. G. Gopu, Associate Professor, Department of Industrial Chemistry (DIC), and Dr. T. P. Yokesh, Assistant Professor, AUCPE, who served as Conveners. The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from both the teaching and non-teaching staff members, creating a vibrant atmosphere of sportsmanship, teamwork, and university camaraderie.
