Special Officer (Planning & Development) Section

The Special Officer (Planning and Development) section is one of the Specialty Executive Division of the University that takes care of execution of the activities concerning planning and development of academic, publicity, scholarship, resource and other related programs of the University.

The major roles and responsibilities of this section
  • Implementation and Monitoring of Schemes of the Government of Tamil Nadu and University Grants Commission
  • Promoting collaboration with national and international organizations and facilitating the signing of MOU
  • Planning and implementation of electric energy conservation activities
  • Planning and Monitoring the utility of telephones and communication networks
  • Planning and monitoring the campus cleanliness, green cover and solid waste management
  • Ensuring the distribution of quality water to all the stake holders
  • Planning and drafting the futuristic vision of the University
  • Monitoring the functioning of Alagappa University Research Fund (AURF)
  • Vetting and forwarding of requests from the faculty members for participation / presentation of papers in the International / National Conferences / Seminars
  • Vetting and forwarding of requests from the faculty members for organizing Conferences / Seminars / workshops at International / National levels
  • Arranging celebration of important International / National days
  • Arranging/facilitating various activities/programs of Centres / Cells / Clubs.
  • Facilitating the distribution of Merit scholarship instituted by the Government of TN / External bodies after due assessment of merit order of the candidates
  • Group Insurance for Employees and Students of the University
  • Training and motivation programs for non-teaching staff
  • Preparation of Annual Report
  • Preparation of Policy Note and Makkal Sasanam for submission to the State Government
  • Uploading of University Data and Monitoring of data uploaded by the affiliated colleges in respect of All India Survey on Higher Education Scheme
  • Furnishing of statistical report to appropriate bodies
  • Issue of Advertisements for Academic programs in both the print and electronic Media
