NAD - Digilocker & ABC ID Portal

How to get registered in NAD?

Students of Alagappa University must register in NAD through the Student Registration Portal (https://nad.digilocker.gov.in/students). This applies to all current and graduated students since 2008, including those from University Departments, Affiliated Colleges, and Distance Education. A single Digilocker ID is sufficient for multiple degrees or higher education. Students already registered in NAD should share their University-provided Student Register Number and existing Digilocker ID with the NAD Cell via their Department Level NAD Coordinator for mapping purposes.

NAD Cell of Alagappa University

Alagappa University is a technology-driven institution focused on creating a student-friendly academic environment. In 2016, the Ministry of Human Resource Development announced the creation of the National Academic Depository (NAD). NAD serves as a 24X7 online storehouse for all academic awards, including certificates, diplomas, degrees, and mark-sheets, digitally stored by academic institutions, boards, and eligibility assessment bodies. It ensures easy access, retrieval, and authentication of academic awards.

Since 2019, Alagappa University has been uploading its academic degrees and diplomas to the NAD portal using the NAD certificate template format. The university established the NAD Cell, equipped with technical infrastructure and trained personnel to implement NAD effectively.

The NAD Cell at Alagappa University is supported by Department Level Faculty Coordinators at University Departments and Affiliated Colleges, responsible for student enrollment in the NAD-Digilocker portal. Additionally, a dedicated team at the Examinations Section handles digitization and data support activities for the NAD Cell.

Academic Bank of Credits (ABC ID)

The Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) was established in July 2021, following the model of the National Academic Depository (NAD), which stores students' academic data and awards. ABC is a digital storehouse containing individual students' credit and credit point information acquired throughout their learning journey. It facilitates student registration and mobility across Higher Education Institutions, allowing them to pursue preferred courses and accumulate credit points on the ABC platform. ABC credits enhance transparency and introduce a flexible approach to curriculum design, promoting seamless integration of skills and experiences into a Credit-Based system.
